New Gear from Christmas

Ok, I know this is a little late, but I figured it was about time to post about some of the awesome, fitness-related stuff I got for Christmas. First up is my Omron Fat Loss Monitor. It’s a pretty cool little gadget that I plan on utilizing a lot. It seems fairly simple to use and easy to input information. Not only does it ask for your height, weight, gender, and age in order to determine your body fat % and BMI, but also whether you are athletic or not according to instruction manual.

The next item is great at making certain weighted exercises a little more comfortable. The Protocol 50-lb. Power Bag. I’m not sure if this is the same brand used on or not, but it’s where I got the idea. It comes with several bags for putting sand in so you can easily adjust the weight. I’m sorry to say I haven’t actually tried it out yet, but hopefully that’ll change soon 🙂

And the last item on my list was technically purchased with a gift card (the gift card being the actual gift–therefore the item bought with it is a gift as well). I just bought this over the weekend, so I haven’t had a chance to try it out either. But, hopefully tomorrow will be the day I try out my new Brooks running jacket. It’s light weight, but seems thick enough to keep the chill off once you get going and with the right attire on underneath. One of the features I liked best about it compared to some of the other jackets I checked out was the heighth of the neck and its padding. It has a very soft, yet thick lining that seems perfect for keeping a winter-wimp like me warm enough during my run (I can handle any other part of my body being cold, but not my neck!) There will most certainly be a more in-depth review once I try it out!

<—It’s also highly reflective, which is helpful where I live/run since there aren’t any sidewalks.
